CO.LAB are Directors. Photographers. Publishers. Creative Directors. Event Curators. Story Tellers. Most of all they are a collaborative bond between Justin Tyler Close and Jeremy Power Regimbal.
It started with the creation of the award winning THE LAB MAGAZINE, a unique physical and digital publishing platform where artists speak to artists, a conversational magazine accompanied by world class photography. Through its international respect and ability to form unique online communities, the magazine has attracted a wide range of celebrities from Wes Anderson and David Fincher to Lykke Li and Kevin Hart. The magazine is distributed in 30 countries, the Ace Hotels, Colette in Paris, MoCa and a multitude of international boutique retail outlets.
Following the success of the Magazine CO.LAB directed the feature, IN THEIR SKIN. The film premiered at the Tribeca International Film Festival where it was acquired by IFC Films for a widespread theatrical release. It also received a Golden Hugo Nomination at Chicago International Film Festival while amassing praise from media outlets such as The Hollywood Reporter, New York Times, Movie Buzzer & Flixist.
Upon completing the feature they went straight to work on a project for GENERATOR Youth Hostels. CO.LAB was commissioned to creative direct/curate a week long celebration for the opening of hostels in selected European cities. CO.LAB quickly turned to their Lab Magazine black book, and curated an event that included local artists taking over the public spaces with installations, art, performances and had local musicians performing nightly, all while documenting the entire happening for social media.
Recently they have entered the brand filmmaking arena with four part web films for SAUCONY called the “Seeker Stories” The first of these films led to CO.LAB being recognized at the 2015 Cannes Young Director’s Award. This is the start of greater things to come.
